I’m Scared, You Win

Part of the Benevolent Sin Collection.

This single was released for Halloween 2023 as a creative endeavor attempting to join the fictional horrors of classic scary media and the intimately real horrors of my personal trauma, spanning from my childhood to my adult life. Each verse is a discussion of the fear I've felt around different influential people in my life, starting with an abusive high school ex, moving on to a manipulative college friend group, and ending with deep-rooted familial tensions.

The song was arranged to sound like a pop-punk spin on a horror movie soundtrack, with distorted electronic wails mixing with high-energy percussive elements. The dynamic shifts between each section create unique variations on a common motif, blending genres and tones to create a cohesive journey of horror and distress.
